Tom’s Tips – Episode 1

Servicing Range Hood Air Filters

If there is a hood with a fan over your stove, it will have an airflow filter that will require periodical cleaning. Benefits of a well-maintained range hood filter include:
  • The breathing of cleaner air
  • Fewer cooking odors that will linger
A dirty or clogged filter will:
  • Attract fruit flies and cockroaches
  • Allow odors to linger
Range hood filters can be cleaned in your sink. Rinse it under hot water and sprinkle baking soda on both sides. Use an old toothbrush or a soft bristle brush to loosen the grime then wash it in hot soapy water. Rinse, dry, and put back – you’re good to go!
