“In that service to others we may find that coming together in friendship, building up community, we too can find true meaning in our lives.” — Pope Leo XIV

Habitat for Humanity Detroit is proud to announce the launch of the Pope Leo Village campaign. This new, multi-city initiative is sponsored and inspired by an anonymous donor committed to Pope Leo’s vision and commitment to serving others. This campaign will center on the construction of 14 new Habitat Detroit homes on Detroit’s west side. The goal of the Pope Leo Village is to inspire and activate young people and Catholics – along with all of our fellow Metro Detroiters – to volunteer and financially support the work of Habitat for Humanity.

Why the Pope Leo Village?

We believe it takes a village to build homes, community, and hope, and we are actively growing ours. You are the heart of that village. Every volunteer hour, every dollar donated, every swing of a hammer, every shared laugh over lunch—it all matters. We’re a true community of builders and neighbors, crafting not just houses, but a more connected and welcoming world for everyone.

How to Get Involved

Moved by the spirit and generosity of this campaign, all Detroiters are invited to join us! You can support this important work in many ways, including donating, fundraising, and volunteering.
