Paid Intership:
Construction Project Coordinator

Reports to:
Director of Construction

 


 

Construction Activity
• Assists with weekly job meetings and prepares updates to project schedules
• Secure required materials and equipment from approved vendors
• Tracks material deliveries
• Provide reports on project costs
• Manage warehouse inventory
• Deliver materials to project sites

Construction Costs
• Assist in project budget development
• Secure multiple bids for building material and labor where appropriate
• Assist in managing donations of labor and in-kind building materials
• Track costs
• Check and submit to the Construction Director all receipts and charges monthly

Manage Volunteers
• Communication volunteer requirements (numbers, tasks, skills) to the Community Engagement Director
• Assist in the supervision and serve as a crew leader on project sites
• Assist in the recruiting of new volunteers
• Ensure proper tools and equipment are provided on site for volunteers and workers

Tools and Equipment
• Provide a list of tools required for the job site
• Replace or repair tools as necessary
• Assist in the procurement of new tools

Communications
• Communicate and report daily with the Construction Director
• Desire to work with people of all ages, races, faith, and cultural backgrounds
• Desire and ability to establish working relationships with Habitat families and volunteers
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends occasionally
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• The position will remain open until filled.

After successfully completing your commitment of 20 hours per week for seven months, you will receive a $6,000.00 stipend, a certificate of completion, and a letter of recommendation from Tom Randazzo, Construction Director.
