Following the passing of former President Jimmy Carter, the world came together to honor his remarkable legacy. We’re lucky and honored to have been directly impacted by his generous spirit and incredible influence through the 2005 Jimmy Carter Work Project. In a single week, the Carters worked side-by-side with volunteers to build 30 homes in Southwest Detroit.

In their remembrance of Jimmy Carter’s life, many local news outlets spoke with volunteers and leaders within Habitat for Humanity for their stories. Below is a compilation of some of those stories, including an op-ed written by volunteers who worked directly with President Carter on the project:
