- Homeownership: Help with homebuying, budgeting, down payment options, and local assistance programs, especially for first-time buyers.
- Renting: Guidance on rental counseling, eviction avoidance, and rent forbearance negotiations with landlords.
- Financial Guidance: Assistance with debt management, credit building, and budgeting.
- Education: Homebuyer Education is an approved and required Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) course for first time potential homebuyers. Class topics include: Lender requirements, shopping for a home, understanding of the loan, the closing process, budgeting, recapture taxes, avoiding predatory lending and foreclosure.
